AMH… a fertility test, but *not* a test of your fertility

AMH is a hormone that is secreted by the cells around the antral follicles in your ovaries. As women age, they have fewer antral follicles and therefore lower AMH levels. The number of antral follicles in a woman's ovary can generally predict how many eggs a woman will produce with assisted reproductive technologies. Spring Fertility's Dr. Peter Klatsky explains that AMH does *not* tell us anything about the health or fertility of those eggs. Although AMH is a fertility test, it does not test your fertility.
